Haukur Tómasson

Haukur Tómasson (b.1960) studied in both Europe and United States. He has won many prizes for his music, but the 2004 Nordic Council Music Prize for his chamber opera Guðrún´s 4th Song, firmly established his stature as one of Scandinavia’s most outstanding composers. In 2011 
he won the competition for a new orchestral piece to be performed at the inaugural concert of the new concert hall Harpa in Reykjavík.
