Haraldur Jónsson studied drawing and chromatics at the University of Aix en Provence, sculpture, sound installation and performance at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts, the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and at the Institut des Hautes Etudes en Arts Plastiques in Paris, France.
His main interest lies in different layers of experience, an interaction between the human body and various emotional, perceptual contexts as well as the finely woven social and historical circumstances one is confronted with in the everyday. His work is regularly exhibited in various parts of the globe and he gives lectures and is a visiting teacher at the Icelandic Art Academy.
