Claire Therese Friesen

Claire is a multi-disciplinary performer and creator in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is an accomplished singer songwriter having released two EPs and a Full-length album, with another in the works. Her mixed-media art work and clothing design has been displayed at the Cre8ery, The Edge Gallery and published in the Betty Magazine. Recently she has been expanding her artistic practice to include stage design and was the set and costume designer for MayWorks production of My Name is Rachel Corrie. Claire is a frequent collaborator with One Trunk having co-written and performed in I Dream of Diesel and Mission Potluck. Claire has an impressive resume as a workshop leader, and has designed and facilitated theatre workshops for diverse groups from young people and inmates at Stony Mountain Penetenary, where she developed an extremely successful Shakespeare program in the autumn. She is an experienced deviser and performer whose resume includes working with out of line theatre, Moving Target and Theatre Incarnate and We’ll Do it Live. She is currently leading a One Trunk creative process looking the exchange of art and music in culturally repressed countries.
