Dance For Me is a new Icelandic / British collaborative dance work by Brogan Davison, Pétur Ármannsson and Ármann Einarsson. Ármann Einarsson is a music school principal and a father of three. At the age of 48 he is around 172 cm in height and sports a prominent belly. Last year he revealed to his daughter-in-law, choreographer Brogan Davison, his life-long desire to perform a contemporary dance on stage. Ármann has had no dance training (though he holds an Icelandic record in triple jumping – set in 1979 and still standing!) but he asked Brogan to help him create a piece of contemporary dance which they actually performed together earlier this year in his hometown of Akureyri, in the north of Iceland. Now Ármann is bent on dancing for the world with this piece of theatre that deals with artistic creativity, self-doubt and the ultimate question: Is dance really for everybody?  Dance For Me was a big hit at the Lókal International Theatre Festival in Iceland in September 2013, and will be touring in 2014 to Mousonturm in Frankfurt, Germany in June and in BIT Teatergarasjen in Bergen, Norway in October.

Dance For Me will be preceded by a special reading of The Ring (Hringurinn), a short play by the beloved Bard of Riverton, Guttormur J. Guttormsson. The play was broadcast on Icelandic state radio in March of 1939 and has scarce seen the light since, so this promises to be a unique night of theatre.
