Alex Ateah explores the desire to connect with others, particularly in the digital age. Through this exploration she investigates her inner psyche, questioning the motives and complexity of her intentions to create meaningful bonds. Through her characters she demonstrates our desires to connect- whether sincere, humorous, or pathetic. Alex Ateah is currently completing her BFA with Honours from the University of Manitoba and will graduate in May of 2015. The artist has exhibited work at various venues across Winnipeg and will be part of a University of Manitoba student show at the Platform gallery in March 2015. She also hosts a karaoke night and enjoys cutting her bangs too short.
